Again this year, ACT in Faith was a host site for MLK Day service projects.  The day's projects are coordinated by St. Paul's Baptist Church and involve hundreds of community volunteers who come together to servce on over 25 different projects.  In addition to 2 St. Paul's projects, ACT in Faith assembled over 70 emergency backpacks for unshelteres men and women.  The backpacks were packed with non-peroshable food, warm hats, gloves and hand warmers, personal care/toiletry items, and a folder of information to help connect the unsheltered with a wide variety of supprt services and programs.

Once assembled, volunteers delivered the bags to numerous organizations across the county such as Chester Co. Hospital, Safe Harbor, Community Crossroads, Orion Community Services, The Charles A. Melton Center, and the Chester County Dept. of Reentry. Within 3 days of distribution, several bags had already been given to people who were unsheltered.  These bags were created to provide at least a bit of support to the 51% of unsheltered individuals do NOT get shelter beds in Chester County.
